Laurent Garnier awarded with French Legion of Honor recognition

The artist informed through an emotional Facebook post

Techno maestro Laurent Garnier just shared a message making public that he received a recognition for his 30 years in music. The ‘Légion d’honneur’ award is the “highest French order for military and civil merits.

Garnier commented – “I’m deeply touched to receive the highest french condecoration to serve and defend a style of music, that originally was subject of lots of prejudice and misunderstandings”.

For me this is not only a 30 years music career recognition, but also for a collective history.

The message is beatiful and important for all included in this collective, and wishing gives hope to a new artists generation” 

Other renowned artists like Bob Dylan, Miles Davis and Paul McCartney have received the award in the past.
