Mark Jenkyns selects Top 10 collabs tracks

Following on from 2017’s ‘Hey Honey’ which saw powerhouse producers Mark Jenkyns and Andre Salmon join forces for the B-side to Mark’s insanely successful Sirens EP on Hottrax, the pair has reunited to deliver a two tried and tested club weapons on the hotly anticipated Where We Live EP via Resonance Records.

Following his recent release teamworking with Andre Salmon, Mark shared with us his top 10 collabs tracks.

Hall & Oates – I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)

“A playlist about the best collabs without a track from Hall & Oates? I can’t go for that (no can do)!”

Georgio Moroder & Donna Summer – I Feel Love

“This track still gets dropped every summer in Ibiza and hits the spot every time – it’s over 40 years old now and there aren’t many tracks that can stand the test of time like that.”

David Bowie & Mick Jagger – Dancing In The Street

“If you’ve not been to DC10 armed with these dance moves, I suggest you sort that out pretty quickly. The kings show us how it’s done, with some very questionable fashion choices.”

Xpress 2 & David Byrne – Lazy

“If you ever need inspiration to get off your sofa, just watch this video.”

Art Of Noise & Max Headroom – Paranoimia

“Does it count as a collab if one half of the act doesn’t really exist? Classic synth stuff from the 80s on this one.”

Womack & Womack – Teardrops

“Quite a lot of 80s tunes here – it’s pretty easy to get lost in a YouTube sesh it seems! Definitely more of a Sunday tune here from Womack & Womack, one for the morning after the night before.”

Michael Jackson & Seidah Garrett – I Just Can’t Stop Loving You

“Right, last chilled one here from the warm up and then we’re taking it up a notch. Couldn’t really not include one from MJ in this playlist – great initials too.”

Rudimental & The Martinez Brothers – No Fear

“Not the most obvious of collab pairings, but this is a quality tune and just proves that The Martinez Brothers can’t put a foot wrong at the moment.”

Chemical Brothers & Q-Tip – Galvanize

“One of the most iconic duos in dance music with one of the most iconic voices in hip hop – there was no way that this collab could go wrong. It still hits all the right buttons today.”

Disclosure – White Noise (Feat. AlunaGeorge)

“This was everywhere when it first came out and started the ball rolling for an entire scene – whether you were into it or not, you can’t really argue with that. Even if you were sick of hearing it at the time, it’s still catchy af.”
