We caught up with Florian Frings, the latest recruit to Matador’s RUKUS label, ahead of his four track EP ‘Hour’ which drops on August 18th. Electronic Groove have the exclusive stream of the title track from the EP, which you can check above.
EG: Hey Florian, thanks for chatting with us! Congrats on this brilliant release on RUKUS. How did this release come about?
Florian Frings: Thank you, I really appreciate it. There is no real plan behind this release. After a small break I started to jam and work in the studio again. Within this progress I produced ‘Hour’ and ‘Anti’. I sent both tracks to Gavin and luckily he liked them and asked me to send over two more to release a 4-track EP. I tried my best and finally we found two more tracks to finish the release.
EG: How would you describe the Florian Frings sound in 3 words?
Florian Frings: Rhythmic, pushing and techno.
EG: You’re currently living in Cologne. How do you find the club scene there?
Florian Frings: In my opinion Cologne has developed in a really good way during the last years. A lot of new clubs with very good sound systems and quality bookings every weekend, so I’m happy with the scene at the moment! What does the rest of 2017 have in store for you, anything you’re particularly looking forward to?
