The summer’s second edition of All Day I Dream in New York was filled with lots sunshine and happiness. As always, All Day I Dream is constantly exploring beautiful, emotional and melancholic shades of House and Techno sounds by bringing together a selected group of artists. This time was no different with the addition of YokoO to ADID masterminds Lee Burridge and Mathew Dekay. From the moment we took the ferry you could feel the energy and positive vibes. Governors Island was in for a treat.
We arrived around 3PM and Yokoo was playing his opening set. The French-born DJ and producer was the perfect ingredient to get the party going with his deep and melodic beats. As we danced and gave into the music we noticed that the party bracelets read “Close Your Eyes,” and that’s exactly what we did. Great advice!
Next up was Matthew Dekay who played some solid tunes during the afternoon incorporating groovier beats and dubby sounds, all in place to keep us going while building the proper vibe for the always-enchanting sunset times.
As the sun came down and the deeper vibes from Lee Burridge’s set took over, we could feel that the magical moment was about to arrive, as it did. The sun was shinning from the horizon, slowly fading away and carrying the night upon us.
Lee’s set was characterized for having ups and downs that kept the crowd engaged at all times. Some of the highlights were “Dinky – Casa (Axel Boman Dub Remix)” and “Dance Floor Corporation – Sueño Latino”, a track that he dreamt about days before and promised to play at the party through his Facebook page.
This was, yet again, an amazing experience. Thanks to the All Day I Dream crew. We hope that they keep coming back and improving each time like they have been doing so far.
