Tobi Neumann and Marco Unzip join forces as ToCo

Tobi Neumann and Marco Unzip have joined forces to collaborate in a special project named ToCo. This alliance hovers over top of early analogue electronic music and modern digital binary soul.

Following a chance meeting at the Electro Splash Open Air festival in 2007, the pair became fast friends and music partners, eventually debuting as a duo at Sven Väth‘s birthday party at Cocoon Club Frankfurt in 2010. The gig likewise saw their initiation as producers when they pressed their track “I Want My Shoe Back” on a dubplate as a gift Väth; the endeavour lead to regular collaborations and DJ performances as ToCo.

This time they have produced a future classic EP, “Right Place” to be released on Haunt Music. You can truly hear Tobi’s 20 years of experience engineering and Marco’s 20 years of taste making in the production here, composing and producing in live jam settings using instruments from Neumann’s personal collection: analogue synthesizers, drum-machines, effect-units and a sophisticated modular-system. The release date is June 24th.

Right Place‘ is the ambassador ToCo have selected to introduce the listener to its distinct flavour of modern bass use and intricate rhythm programming. Gliding you along its path like a manta ray through the open sonic ocean.

Supa Fly‘ works things to a funkier more optimistic place that plays with cascading poly synth keys and luscious layers of synth detail.

Sweet Elisa‘ is the extended player crown jewel that brings you back to Kraftworkian moments in German electronic expression. With complex layers of analogue wash and tone backed by a basic retro style modular rhythm section, that just acts as a simple guide through the tracks dimensions of synth and sweet subtle guitar.
