Berlin declares October 3rd ‘Club Culture Day’

40 clubs and collectives will take part in the celebrations.

Berlin plans to celebrate the first ‘TAG DER CLUBKULTUR’ this Saturday, October 3rd, curated by the clubs and collectives recipients of the €10,000 award, featuring individual showcases as part of a city-wide festival hosted in a variety of indoor and outdoor locations.

The project was an initiative by Klaus Lederer and the Clubcommission Berlin organized the festival, while their website states that they are ‘sending a decisive sign of life in times that threaten our existence’. Club der Visionaere, So36, Gretchen, Schwuz, ://about blank, [ipsə], arkaoda, Sameheads, and Yaam are among the venues included.

Dancing indoors is still illegal, but venues can still house guests for other indoor activities like viewing art or having a drink. Dancing is allowed in open-air spaces, with a maximum capacity of 5,000 attendees, as long as social distancing protocols are in place.
