Brooklyn Public Library adds vinyl collection

400 records spanning house music, disco, hip-hop, and pop.

New York’s Brooklyn Public Library has just announced the addition of vinyl records to its catalog. The main branch at Grand Army Plaza is now home to 400 records and new listening stations with turntables.

Cardholders will now be able to borrow up to three records for a period of three weeks. While the library has called it a “pilot project”, it still hopes to add more records to the collection in the near future.

In similar news, this September the library will be hosting a 6-week DJ and production workshop for teens in collaboration with Building Beats.
