Catz ‘N Dogz Interview & Track Breakdown at Point Blank (Video)

Point Blank regularly connect with top artists and professionals from the music industry to shape unique masterclasses which offer an insight into how some of the best in the business work. For their latest guest masterclass they were joined by Polish DJ/producer duo Catz ‘N Dogz for an exclusive interview and a breakdown of their remix of Marlena Shaw’s ‘Woman Of The Ghetto’.

In the video, the dynamic Polish duo discuss their approach to collaboration and the techniques they have picked up from working with a wide range of artists over the course of their ten-year career, as well as sharing their top production secrets. We hear about their background in music, how they started to work together and their inspiration for the remix before they dive into the track, breaking it down and discussing in detail the structure of the remix. The duo also divulge their essential kit and favourite plugins, and even cover some techniques they have learnt from Point Blank tutorials! Starting their journey as Catz ‘N Dogz in 2003, Grzegorz and Wojciech’s prolific career has seen them grace the covers of Mixmag and DJ Mag as well as earning them positions in both the RA Top 100 and DJ Mags Top 10 Albums of 2015. The duo’s electric performances and production capabilities have taken them all over the world, playing at top venues and festivals including Bestival, Movement and Exit. On the production front they’ve also won many high profile fans and accolades, with their track ‘Get It Right (feat. Tanika)’ being picked as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record in the World on BBC Radio 1 and their remix of Thomas Schumacher’s ‘Hush’ sitting at the #1 spot on the Beatport Tech House chart for 5 consecutive months.
