COVID-19 vaccine passports to be mandatory for English nightclubs

The Government is demanding voluntary efforts from nightclubs.

Vaccines Minister Nadhim Zahawi has announced that nightclubs and other large venues across England will be forced to impose a vaccine passport for entry. Negative tests or proof of recent infection will not suffice under these new rules.

The Night Time Industries Association (NTIA) conducted a flash poll, revealing that 82.7% of venues would be ignoring Government advice on the matter.

During a recent press conference, the Prime Minister explained that if voluntary action wasn’t taken soon, the country could be well headed for another lockdown this Autumn, due to a ‘significant threat posed by nightclubs’

‘I don’t want to have to close nightclubs again, nightclubs have to do the responsible thing and use the NHS COVID pass which shows proof of vaccination or a recent negative test … We do reserve the right to mandate such certification,’ he concluded.

The number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 on July 18th was 44,215. The 7-day average is over 40,000.
