De La Soul and Snoop Dogg collaborate in the latest Gorillaz album

Gorillaz’s mastermind Damon Albarn has been working on the new full length album due to be out in 2017. The record will include different major associates including the likes of De La Soul and Snoop Dogg.

In a recent interview to the the Guardian De La Soul declared, “We actually sat down with Damon two weeks ago and he played us some of the new Gorillaz album, and it sounds amazing,” Pos complemented “He played us a track that he wants us to get off on his album so we got to get in the studio and put that down.”

Also other important names in the industry have been confirmed as album collaborators; Snoop Doog who took part in the past with “Plastic Beach”, alongside Vic Mensa, composer Jean Michel-Jarre, songwriter Liam Bailey and production from Twilite Tone.

Albarn also shared some thoughts on BBC 6 Radio, “Later in the year we’ll be starting to get the whole Gorillaz thing together,” He added that he’s “loving” the material written thus far and believes the album “should be ready fairly soon.”

Gorillaz fifth album is expected to arrive sometime in 2017, coming after “The Fall” released in 2010.
