EG.1027 Andrey Pushkarev

“I put this mix together while I was in New York on my U.S. tour. The May vibes and good times with friends shaped the mood. It’s 1h15m of tunes I’m really into right now—some unreleased stuff from myself and some tracks coming on Luck of Access and Berg Audio, plus a few personal favorites from friends and artists I respect. Hope you enjoy it.” – Andrey Pushkarev

Born in 1981 in the small town of Votkinsk in the Pre-Ural region, Andrey has been a staple of the worldwide underground scene, collecting and playing vinyl records for over 25 years. His deep and discerning taste for sound is widely recognized and respected across more than 60 countries, from Australia to the US, South America, Asia, and Africa.

Andrey’s DJ career began at the age of 15. Despite limited access to underground music and culture in the years following the collapse of the Soviet Union, his passion for electronic sound developed quickly, evolving into a lifelong dedication. His constant search for new and unique finds, combined with a desire to share them, has led to performances at clubs, festivals, and live streams on platforms like Boiler Room, Mixmag Lab, and others.

In 2006, Andrey became a resident DJ for the unique web radio station, DeepMix.ru. The station broadcasted non-commercial techno music for free, reaching listeners in 53 countries until its closure in 2011.

In 2013, he was featured as the main protagonist in the documentary Kvadrat, directed by Anatoly Ivanov. Shot across five countries, the film gave an honest, unvarnished look into the realities of DJing, challenging the romanticized notion of the life of an electronic artist and resonating deeply within the underground community.

As a producer, Andrey mainly focuses on ambient and dub sounds, crafting music that carries an inward-outward message, free from the influence of fleeting trends. His releases and remixes can be found on labels like Circus Company, Endless, Lessizmore, and Thule Records.

In addition to his work as a producer, Andrey founded his label, Luck of Access, in 2017. The label provides a platform for artists to explore and showcase lesser-known aspects of their musical styles.
