Embrace and Destiny Present The World of Drum & Bass

Calling all Bassheads and Toronto sound systems beware: the sub-shattering rumble of Toronto’s 7th Annual Bassweek has steamrolled in during its yearly impact from March 17, 18, 24, and 25.

For almost 7 years the tour has united bassheads in and around the city to celebrate both music and community. The two-weekend event is hosted by award-winning organizer, Destiny Events, in partnership with one of Toronto’s most recognized promo brands, Embrace Presents. In honor of Bassweek 2017, DnB’s hardest acts have been rallied to play assorted venues across the city. Plus, with bonus pre- and post-tour parties, Bassweek is starting to feel a lot like Bassmonth—with zero objections.

The festivities were well under way early on March 4th with UK beatbreakers, Sigma, for Bassweek’s official pre-party at Velvet Underground. Which was later followed by the premiere of DnB label, RAM Records, who provided fans with a sinful quartet, Bad Company UK, and booming duo, Loadstar, at Maison Mercer on March 17. The following night, Toronto Bass Community hosted two hefty floors of music featuring Stranjah b2b Polaris and Byll at Lily Lounge.

The fans want more bass, and weekend two was chalk full with gigs that left fans reeling with excitement. On March 24 fans got a third helping of bass at Locals Only with Toronto bass imprint, On Point, and the always entertaining Sniper alongside 12 additional acts. Who doesn’t love surprises? And finally, London’s Hospital Records hits Coda with bass-techies Camo & Krooked on March 25 followed by the Bassweek official after party on March 31 with electro-bassheads The Prototypes and DnB authority, Bladerunner at Nest.
