Point Blank: Fred P Interview and track breakdown with exclusive Remix competition (Video)

Point Blank regularly host track masterclasses and breakdowns with some of the best musicians and producers in the business. They’ve sat down with the likes of Ben Pearce, MJ Cole and Joe Goddard to discuss their work and give a bit of an insight into their creative approach. This time, Point Blank were joined by NYC native Fred P for an interview and breakdown of his track ‘The Point Blank Project’, which they’ve lined up an exclusive remix competition for you all.

Watch the video and check out the full details for the competition. For those who are looking to learn about music production, Point Blank are currently offering a huge 35% discount plus a free copy of Ableton Suite or Logic Pro X with a range of online courses until July 17th, so head to their website or contact our course advisors on +44 20 7729 4884.

In the above session, Point Blank’s Carly Hordern spoke to Fred P about his background in music, discussing his love for the London scene and the connection he feels to it as well as talking about his new label, Private Society. He also lets us in on his creative process, breaking down a track for us and sharing his essential tips for up-and-coming producers. We hear about his move from a mainly analog to digital/analog set-up and learn what his favourite bits of hardware and plugins are and how they fit into his workflow.

Point Blank are running a remix competition for the track featured below, with the winner getting a vinyl release on Fred P’s new label Private Society as well as a copy of Ableton Suite and Komplete 11. The deadline for the competition is the 31st July. See here for details on how to enter.
