The Chef: “I always had the passion for cooking and making music”

THE CHEF creates music with finest ingredients that offers you a unique experience. His techno recipes will bring you straight into his kitchen. The Dishes Will Blow Your Mind.

We had the chance to talk with the Chef aligned to the recent release of his ‘Life Cycles’ EP.

Electronic Groove: Hi Eric, thanks for your time. How did you get involved with electronic music?

The Chef: Hi guys, thanks for your interest, you’re doing something magic here with Electronic Groove. I got involved with electronic music when I was in middle school. We all had our Nokia 5300 with tons of house and techno – and were sharing those tracks via Bluetooth. In that moment, I had tons of electronic tunes to listen to and there was the Tecktonik dance around, which made me closer to electronic music even more. Had a blast with all my friends back then.

EG: Where The Chef name come from?

The Chef: The Chef is the cooking wizard in music. I always had the passion for cooking and making music, and while I was living in Miami I spent most of my time doing so – that’s when I decided to call myself The Chef.

EG: How would you define your musical concept?

The Chef: I love producing music. Started with electro house and progressive house, then moved into minimal techno.

EG: Tell us about your weekly livestream ‘The Chef Music Live’. What do you look for in every program?

The Chef: The Chef Music Live was born to keep up the energy before the weekend, delivering to the listeners a great music selection either from me or special guests.

It’s impressive to see how every episode differs from the others and to catch up the various feeling and spices brought by every artist mixes.

EG: What about productions? What was the inspiration behind your latest ‘Life Cycles’ EP?

The Chef: While producing the ‘Life Cycles’ EP I got inspired by new people I met around clubs in London. It’s amazing to have conversations with ravers, promoters, DJs…people that like techno.

EG: Can you name your all-time favorite techno DJs?

The Chef: Love Pig & Dan and their label Elevate, lately I also really like Remco Beekwilder’s music and the label Monnom Black.

EG: As you mentioned you also love cooking, what’s your favorite kind of food to prepare?

The Chef: Best thing I love is cooking an omelet every morning with three eggs, spinach, cooked ham, cheddar cheese, paprika and pepper. This is my favorite way to start the day, I do it every morning.

EG: What’s next for The Chef?

The Chef: New nusic. New podcasts. New shows. New food.
