Will Renuart: “Where Are My Keys is all about the music”

Will Renuart is the founder of Miami’s infamous Electric Pickle as well as the creator of the party concept ‘Where Are My Keys’.

As someone who has been deeply involved in the development of the underground music scene in the city, Will has firmly established “the Pickle” as a top club destination in the region, but also as an international institution. Now, his party concept ‘Where Are My Keys’ is following closely in this trajectory.

Electronic Groove: Hi Will, thanks for chatting with us. So, where does the name ‘Where Are My Keys’ come from and what can you tell us about the history of the part?

Will Renuart: Thanks to you. I can take credit for the christening of ‘Where Are My Keys’, mainly because I’m constantly losing stuff! Proud to say this is our third edition. We started in 2016 and this will be our 6th ‘Where Are My Keys’ event!

“Where Are My Keys is still a micro-festival, however, we have managed to maintain that intimate feeling you get from say going to party at the Pickle”

EG: Can you let us know a bit about the concept of the event?

Will Renuart: I’ve been doing parties at the Electric Pickle for a long time and while we all know what a special place it is, I wanted to build something that would work on a larger scale and also something that could translate into different markets. Where Are My Keys is still a micro-festival, however we have managed to maintain that intimate feeling you get from say going to party at the Pickle. We love the fact that we can reach a wider audience. The Pickle’s capacity is very limited. Where Are My Keys also allows us to be more diverse in the bookings as we cater to a more International crowd and also program 3 different areas. This means more variety for you.

EG: What can you tell us about the Art Basel Edition lineup?

Will Renuart: It’s all about the music, we have Detroit legend Omar S as our headliner. Francesca Lombardo is doing a vinyl only set. Many of my favorites are playing, Doc Martin and Daniel Bell to name some of them. And we also have a lot of surprises planned for you. Prepare for many unannounced sets!

EG: What can party and music lovers expect from this event?

Will Renuart: These events were brought into being the same way the Pickle came to life, so expect similar vibes but on a bigger scale. We have 3 rooms. Lots of amazing talent and we are currently working round the clock on the final touches of the production. We want to make this the perfect Basel location for you to close out your weekend properly.

“We’re also looking forward to going to the West Coast where we will be doing our first LA event”

EG: So where can we get our tickets?

Will Renuart: Our friends over at Resident Advisor have this under control.

EG: What are the future plans for Where Are My Keys?

Will Renuart: World dominations! We have big plans. Obviously, we will be doing our signature Detroit party again next May. We’re also looking forward to going to the West Coast where we will be doing our first LA event. We will also be over in Europe with a Berlin date next August.

EG: Exciting news! Anything else you’d like to add?

Will Renuart: Come, get loose and try not to lose too many valuables <3
