Jonathan Kaspar has returned to Crosstown Rebels with ‘The Reason Why’, a four-track EP that is now available on all major platforms.
The project follows his ‘We Come’ EP for the label in 2024 and two remixes for Crosstown Rebels founder Damian Lazarus in 2025. It opens with ‘Take Control’, pairing stripped-back tech drums with a searching lead synth.
Bákayan contributes vocals to the title track, adding a soulful element to its deeper groove. Kaspar handles the vocals himself on the remaining two cuts: ‘Play With Me’, built around trippy synth details and sci-fi motifs, and closing track ‘I Love Your Voice’, which moves into a slower, more expansive space.
The full tracklist also includes ‘Take Control’, ‘The Reason Why’ featuring Bákayan, ‘Play With Me’, and ‘I Love Your Voice’.
