Kevin Brauer and Vintage Culture have released ‘Selekta’, their first official collaborative project, via Affairs.
The two-track EP brings together references from Jamaican sound system culture, London’s underground, and ’90s dance music. Its title track features London-based rapper Tugawar, pairing reggae and UK bassline influences with weighty low-end and a tightly structured groove.
‘Yoga’ takes a different direction, drawing on ’90s dance music through a pulsating bassline, pronounced lead work, and direct club-focused arrangement. Created after ‘Selekta’, the track led the producers to expand the collaboration from a standalone single into a two-track EP.
The project developed through remote exchanges before moving into in-person studio sessions, while both tracks were tested across clubs and festivals ahead of release.
