Kiko Navarro releases ‘Sounds Of My Breath’ album

Inspired by qigong practitioner Nader Behravan’s teachings.

Mallorquin DJ and producer Kiko Navarro has just shared the drop of his latest full-length record ‘Sounds Of My Breath’. Comprised of 10 new original cuts, the new LP is already available to stream and purchase via Navarro’s own Afroterraneo Music imprint.

Rooted in folklore and spirituality, ‘Sounds Of My Breath’ sees the Spanish producer draw inspiration from the voice and breath-work techniques of qigong teacher Nader Behravan, as he explores a myriad of textures and colors.

According to its press release, “Iranian-born, German-raised qigong practitioner Nader Behravan had initially approached veteran DJ and producer Kiko Navarro to produce music for a series of tutorial videos that he was creating”. Intrigued by the concept, the artist explored qigong as he worked on the tracks.

“I began to explore music from Iran, because Nadar is from Iran, and this led to learning about the singing style and breathing patterns from that culture. The work with Nader brought these sounds out from inside me. After I got this door open, I was able to reach deep inside and bring out something new, something different,” says Navarro about the whole experience.

In line with the drop, Navarro also anticipated that a series of video tutorials featuring Nader Behravan’s qigong and breath-work will be available at SoundsofMyBreath.com, soundtracked with music from the project.

‘Sounds Of My Breath’ will also be presented as a ‘Live Practise Session’, appearing on streaming platforms with Nader Behravan’s voice and breath-work featured throughout.
