Mind-Matter debuts in London’s Village Underground

The American brand finally debuted in London last weekend after rescheduling due to the pandemic. Agents of Time, Johannes Brecht among other renowned names of the circuit were on the line-up in the middle of the alternative and cosmopolitan Shoreditch, where the event was held, at Village Underground, a well-known warehouse located in the city.

Created in 2019 in New York City, Mind-Matter focuses on bringing melodic techno talent to cities around the world with immersive visuals and sensory lighting. On last Friday, local talent Hardt Antoine kicked off the night from 10 PM with his full arsenal of mixing ability and experience with an impressive and knowledgeable track selection to perform a proper warm-up; The night was about an all-live set experience. An Amsterdam-based artist, VNTM (live), was the first one at midnight. He took the listeners on a journey alongside his blend between modern-day techno and contemporary progressive melodies.

Deeply rooted in classical music, countless first prizes in national competitions followed by stellar university degrees as Jazz bass player and pianist seemed to have forecasted his fate as instrumentalist pretty clearly. All these skills from Diynamic Music artist Johannes Brecht and his energy could be felt around the venue, which made for an intense and deep act.

3.30 AM, the last live act of the night, headliners Andrea and Luigi, also known as Agents of Time went onto the stage in a special booth full of analog machines, drum machines, vintage synths, etc… An hour and a half of live bangers like their hit track ‘The Mirage’, which was released on Afterlife from Tale of Us. Textured leads, silky hi-hats, immerse melodic pads and of the most impressive part of the live act, the vocals from Luigi until close.

This was the first Mind-Matter invasion in London, and is now back to New York City this Friday with SOEL from Afterlife, INVŌKER from Innervisions, and more at The Williamsburg Hotel.
