A new biography of Laurent Garnier has been published by Éditions les Pérégrines, tracing the French artist’s journey from teenage bedroom DJ to a defining figure in European electronic music.

Titled ‘Garnier,’  the book was written by philosopher and essayist Mathilde Ramadier and draws on extensive conversations with the producer and DJ. Ramadier has followed Garnier’s career for more than a decade and previously contributed to the 2013 graphic novel ‘Rêves syncopés’, which was inspired by his life.

The book examines the artist’s work as a composer, producer, DJ, and advocate for electronic music culture, while also addressing questions surrounding his legacy.

Its publication arrives as Garnier prepares to step back from touring. Earlier this year, the 60-year-old said he intended to leave touring life, citing exhaustion and changing priorities while maintaining his commitment to music.

More information about the book is available here.
