Elevate is a label run by Techno mainstays Pig&Dan who are set to release a special EP entitled ‘Modular Baptism (Remixes)’.
This heavyweight release features previously unreleased remixes from Lee Van Dowski, DJ Boris, Alberto Ruiz and Elevate favourite Vinicius Honorio.
For those who don’t already know “Modular Baptism” is the title of Pig&Dan’s recent fourth album and this stunning sampler features reworks of “Growler” and “The Saint (Job San)” which are the album’s two lead tracks.
The critically acclaimed album reached the #1 spot on Beatport and singles such as Growler reaching the top spot in Beatport’s Techno Chart and #2 in the website overall sales chart.
Kicking off proceedings are two alluring reinterpretations of the duo’s aforementioned banger Growler. The first comes from Spanish DJ/Producer Alberto Ruiz who fuses the original’s deep resounding synth-riff with warped industrial sounding effects.
The second version is from rising London-based and Brazilian-born talent Vinicius Honorio, who ventures down an even darker route with fierce distorted synths crashing against the more melodic moments of the track to great effect.
Following on are two excellent re-rubs of “The Saint (Job San)” with the first coming from revered Russian born and American based DJ Boris, who turns the melodic masterpiece into a sharp, dark Techno roller featuring a relentless array of synth stabs.
The second remix comes from French-born, Geneva-based underground king Lee Van Dowski, who provides a euphoric sounding framework by bringing the original’s piano chords to the front of the mix and introducing squelching synths towards the end of this 8 minute number to further fuel the climatic finish.
