Tampering with an undetermined series of chemical compounds, Melorama Música introduces newcomer COQUEIT to the imprint’s catalogue with his twofold debut EP, Return. Distilled somewhere unmarked in Cordoba, this boisterous calling card treads through restless, forward-thinking passageways with a most engaging attention to detail with every passing beat.

Surging with unbridled confidence through endless light arcs at hyperspeed, COQUEIT enters “Return” riding on the coattails of a throbbing bassline that rips through the stage with sublime ease. As the thumping kicks thrust us deeper inside, the track’s percussive frame slowly introduces new elements before undulating sequences rush over us, offsetting a menagerie of electric pulses and tantalizing bursts of energy throughout. With “Return” now firing on all cylinders, the young Argentine expertly overloads the system with a sultry synthetic sequence that corrodes the mainframe, disintegrating its confines for a tantalizing breakdown before recontextualizing itself without ever sacrificing its magnitude.

In his second act of alchemy, COQUEIT amps the frequency with the explosive “Turbulence”. As its name suggests, far from a free-flowing joyride, this shapeshifting rollercoaster is powered by an irresistible low-end pulse that latches under heavy-handed drumwork and dark percussive stabs. Meanwhile, colorful liquids ebb and flow, unpredictably interacting with each other, before a mechanized vocal triggers an intoxicating alarm that heightens the stakes as everything comes to a halt.

With cruise control now activated, we are able to catch a rare glimpse of the outside world, only to relinquish everything again to this exquisite, controlled kind of pandemonium for another run. Across both experiments, COQUEIT turns rhythm into a volatile compound, pushing each reaction further until Return becomes less a destination than a glimpse into a world still mutating around us.

Release date: September 16th, 2026.
