Transistor Rhythms – Human Connection Index

At its heart, Human Connection Index is an attempt to capture the euphoria of finding that special connection that seems to transcend explanation. That feeling when the music is no longer a collection of noise and becomes something more instinctive. It’s a manifestation of the human emotional experience translated into rhythm, feeling and sound.

With no genre to conform to, no scene to satisfy and no preconceived idea of what it should become, the record was made with a willingness to follow the feeling that the music will finally find its own destination – Euphoria.

The kind of joy that feels almost overwhelming. Not polished or saccharine, but visceral. The strange beauty that appears when seemingly opposing forces begin to exist as one.

It’s perhaps trite for an artist to declare their intentions with a particular track, but I truly wanted to push this record beyond the boundaries of what I thought I was capable of. It’s not experimentation for its own sake, but an attempt to translate a feeling into sound: the rush, the recognition, the overwhelming joy of finding something that feels impossibly rare.

The record comes complete with a remix from Bristol live electronic artist Variable_Self. Through a total deconstruction of the original track, familiar sounds become fragments, fragments become memories, and the spaces between them become charged with anticipation. The result is not a remix that simply revisits the original, but one that discovers what else was hiding inside it.

The original synth line remains recognisable, but is dubbed out, restructured and re-arranged until it develops a personality entirely of its own. It becomes the thread that holds everything together as the surrounding elements fracture, collide and reform around it.

Variable_Self isn’t satisfied with simply offering an alternative arrangement of Human Connection Index. Instead, the track becomes a different route into the same emotional territory, one that takes the euphoria, uncertainty and magnetic pull of connection and refracts them through a completely unique lens.

Release date: October 2nd, 2026.
