SoundCloud has announced a new partnership with elasticStage to offer on-demand vinyl pressing for Artist Pro subscribers, allowing independent artists to sell physical records globally with no upfront investment or minimum order requirements.
Eligible users can join the waitlist for the service. Once approved, they will be able to select tracks from their SoundCloud catalog, upload artwork, and finalize credits to create a vinyl release. A dedicated sales page will be generated for each record, which fans can access to place orders.
Each vinyl order will be produced and shipped individually by elasticStage, which will also handle processing and customer service. Artists will earn revenue on every sale, with shipping available to nearly 100 countries.
“Vinyl sales have surged over 300% since 2016, yet most independent artists have been excluded from this growth due to high manufacturing costs and logistical limitations,” said SoundCloud CEO Eliah Seton. “This partnership is another step toward ensuring that every artist – no matter where they are in their career – has the tools to build a sustainable career.”
Steve Rhodes, elasticStage CEO and co-founder, added: “We created elasticStage’s on-demand vinyl technology to make physical music as accessible as streaming for artists and music fans everywhere.”
