Spektre – Endless Days – Respekt

Spektre are back with their first new original material since 2020, and it has definitely been worth the wait.

Timed perfectly for the run-up to the summer festival season, ‘Endless Days’ is a single that comes in two different versions. Each version is created by Spektre and it may surprise some fans who have an expectation of their usual style.

The version titled ‘Club Mix’ is still true to their high-energy style with its booming kick drum, dark atmospherics, and powerful synths. They have blended those trademark elements with old-school pianos, fluttering acid, and a sensual female vocal sample.

Things move away from their recognizable style with the ‘Breaks Mix’, which focuses on the acid line that is only ever teased on the other version. In this mix, it’s the acid line that’s the main focus along with a heavy breakbeat that’s also in sections of the original.

Both versions have a throbbing bassline that sounds like it’s got enough sub to be used in a grimy drum and bass track.

It’s got hands in the air moments with the uplifting piano chords, singalong vocals, fist-pumping energy, and old-school flavor, which added together are usually the ingredients for a summer anthem. Despite those qualities, it has still got underground techno appeal, so this release is one we expect to get a lot of festival plays.
