Tales from the London Underground: The EG Guide to the Ultimate Bank Holiday Weekend

Tempting as it may be to consider the trappings of Homebase’s sawdusty aisles, catch an overcrowded train to an over-littered beach or pursue the usual park, pub, pint routine, this Bank Holiday, London is reeling with some of the brightest names in techno, disco and house. We suggest giving the chav-parade a wide berth by avoiding some of the usual big-name events and seeking out some of the serious electronic-shaped fun on offer instead.

Here’s the EG guide to the ultimate London Bank Holiday weekend:

All Points East, Victoria Park
25th May – 3rd June. 11:30 onward. Last entry 21:00

All Points East is a brand new ten-day event in East London’s Victoria Park encompassing a three-day music festival, a community-focused programme of midweek entertainment and three large headline shows. Tucked away in a Hoxton side street, the pub-come-club is rapidly becoming London’s electronic destination du jour thanks to immaculate bookings, oozy-warm vibes and that near perfect Martin Audio sound system. Saturday sees Digby take the helm, together with Matteo Manzini. On Sunday, Berlin-based Bruno Schmidt joins Alex Arnout. Full-power frolics and the bounciest, nicest of crowds invariably follow.
