Barcelona-based producer and DJ Cora Novoa unveils the third installment of her avant-garde album series, Mental Diary. Titled ‘ACT III: This is not about you and me. This is about us,’ this latest offering will be released on December 5th, 2024.
Released via SEEKING THE VELVET label, the album’s lead single ‘No Faith, No Fear’ sets the tone with ethereal vocals and synthesizer arrangements. Accompanying music videos for ‘No Faith, No Fear’ and ‘Todo x Ti,’ paint a haunting picture of a dystopian world.
‘ACT III’ delves into contemporary issues, addressing artificial intelligence, sustainability, and the concept of community in our increasingly fragmented society. The album features nine tracks that create a dark, atmospheric soundscape.
Cora Novoa shares her inspiration: “In this last act, I have focused on community, on belonging to a group, its meaning, and the search for solutions to an increasingly dystopian present. I’m fascinated by the symbolism related to secret societies and the ability to transfer knowledge, traditions, values, or customs in perpetuity. The other key piece is the future, as we face an uncertain future with negative connotations due to issues such as climate change. The present and the legacy we leave to our children depend on us.”
‘ACT III’ offers a multisensory experience with three singles, two music videos, and six new tracks. A limited edition cassette, exclusive print, digital album, and SEEKING THE VELVET clothing line complete the immersive artistic package.
