Unmasking the dynamic duo, Brigado Crew

Brigado Crew, a duo formed by Brian Harrison and Martín Kasall, was established in 2012, born out of a shared love for music. They’ve made a significant impact on the global dance music scene.

Their music, released on renowned labels such as Stil vor Talent, Tomorrowland music, Bedrock, and Diynamic, has earned the recognition and support from industry giants like Solomun, Adriatique, and Black Coffee.

Their first major breakthrough came in 2017 when their debut single, ‘Zulu’, topped the Beatport Deep House chart. This marked the start of their prolific career, with ‘Symbiosis’, their debut album released on Stil vor Talent, signifying a notable milestone. Today, they are not only musicians but also proud owners of their record label, Symbiosis.

Their latest release, ‘Time Slave’, a collaboration with Crisstiano, is now available on their label. We had the opportunity to interview Brigado Crew, delving into their journey, their new release, and their future plans.

EG: Hi, guys! Welcome to EG. It’s a pleasure to have you here with us. How have you been? What have you been up to?

Brigado Crew: Hello to everyone here, glad to be here also. We are super happy with this new year coming up, with a lot of projects and stuff to see the light related to music.

EG: First of all, congratulations on the release of your new collaboration, ‘Time Slave’! How are you feeling about this one now that it’s out? What has the initial reception been like so far?

Brigado Crew: Thanks, thanks, thanks, it’s a super special release for us. We put a lot of effort into it and we have been waiting to release it for almost a year, so finally, the time has arrived and we are extremely happy with the result!

EG: So, what can your fans expect to find on ‘Time Slave’? Is there a concept or trigger driving this particular piece?

Brigado Crew: It’s a powerful track that if you listened to Brigado Crew over the last 12 months, you will recognize it from our sets as it has been like a “secret weapon” for us.

EG: ‘Time Slave’ sees you linking up with Crisstiano once again. What was the creative process for this release like? What is your dynamic with Crisstiano like by now?

Brigado Crew: Well, we are super close friends with Crisstiano, and we made a lot of music together, so the workflow is amazing! We live very near each other, so we usually meet many times during the week to make a lot of music, and have been doing so for years!

“It’s a powerful track that if you listened to Brigado Crew over the last 12 months, you will recognize it from our sets”

EG: And this one is out now via your own Symbiosis imprint, signaling its seventh release. How has Symbiosis developed and evolved since its conception? Is there anything you can anticipate from Symbiosis moving forward?

Brigado Crew: Nice question, well yes, we have a very busy schedule for Symbiosis this year, with 12 releases so far, so it’s a key year for the label and for us of course!

EG: And now you guys are poised to celebrate your first Symbiosis at the Studio Theatre in Cordoba, Argentina. For how long has this been in the works? What can we expect from that special night?

Brigado Crew: Yeah! Finally, a dream comes true, our first showcase in one of our favorite cities around the world. We have been working on it for 3 months with all the team from Meed Producciones who are helping a lot to make this possible. We have many surprises for the show and some stuff that has never been seen before in an electronic music party!

EG: Now, speaking about the scene, what do you think the future of electronic dance music looks like? Are all these innovations and big-screen festival performances bringing us closer or farther away from the music? What does the scene look like where you’re at?

Brigado Crew: It depends really, we are ok with big screens for festivals and some kind of parties, as it is another way to enjoy the music and everyone is welcome to improve and introduce new things to the scene. We know some people are angry about this, but we should never forget that electronic music is always open to everyone so let the world let it be and let everyone enjoy it however they want to.

EG: It being such a hot topic, how do you feel about the recent implementation of AI in the creative side of music? Have you explored any form of AI in your tracks?

Brigado Crew: We experimented with it a bit, but honestly, we don’t work 100% with it. We did some tests on our music and we don’t feel 100% or we didn’t understand it clearly, so at the moment we are not using it! Just for vocals from time to time.

“We trust this year is a very, very, very important one in our career”

EG: Finally, can you provide some insights into what’s next for Brigado Crew? What can we expect from you in the coming months? Where can your fans catch you next?

Brigado Crew: Well, this year we have more than 35 shows until December so that’s super exciting! We are going to play in South America, North America, Europe, Asia, Africa (for the first time). We have 3 Symbiosis showcases and 1 in Europe to be confirmed.

We have made 12 new tracks that we are finishing right now and will see the light very soon!

We trust this year is a very, very, very important one in our career.

EG: Thank you so much for your time, Brigado Crew! See you on the dancefloor!

Brigado Crew: Thanks, we had a fun time speaking with you! See you on the dancefloor, everyone is welcome to enjoy our journey together!
