Instead, Jeff Mills was confirmed as headliner to substitute him.
Detroit’s Movement Music Festival has announced a lineup change for this year’s edition. On February 20th, Carl Cox confirmed via a social media post that his appearance at the festival would be postponed until 2026.
“Hey everyone, I regret to inform you that due to scheduling complications, my show at Movement has been postponed until 2026,” Cox stated. “I’m sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but I promise to make it worth the wait. When I return, I’ll bring my full live show experience, and it’s going to be epic. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. See you all in 2026 for an unforgettable show!”
Shortly after the news, festival organizers Paxahau revealed that techno pioneer Jeff Mills would headline the first day of the event, on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
“To be able to play in Detroit is and has always been a special kind of magic,” Mills said. “It’s one of the few places in the World where anything could happen because of a higher premium of music ‘sense’ most people have. And it’s constantly being handed down from one generation to the next. Detroit is the place that understands the power of music and the value of a soulful and moving experience.”
