Award-winning British producer Lempo combines forces with pioneering Chicago vocalist Robert Owens for the latest release on Manchester’s Applique Music. The result is the moody after-hours-anthem ‘If You Want It’ – a chunky yet fine balance of tech and soulful house.
Lempo is on form in 2022 having already seen no less than four Beatport Top 10 chart placements, including ‘Lookie Here’ on InStereo Recordings alongside The Incredible Melting Man and Rosemary Quaye – which spent two weeks as the number one Funky House release.
American singer-songwriter, Robert Owens is a true legend of the house scene, best known for his work in the mid-1980s with the Chicago house group Fingers Inc. alongside Larry Heard AKA Mr Fingers – producing genre-defining hits such as ‘Can You Feel It’ on the iconic Trax Records. In 1991 David Morales co-produced Owens’ cult classic ‘I’ll Be Your Friend’ on the RCA imprint.
’If You Want It’ sees Owens’ deliver a signature vocal performance with seductive undertones complementing Lempo’s hooky synth work and high-energy percussion. Beatport exclusive from Nov 11th with a general release on Nov 25th.
