Position Obscure Recordings is an American record label based in Los Angeles that focuses on the deep and melodic house. PARCEL and Might i are the owners of Position Obscure and the label’s latest offering is from LIBS.
LIBS is the alias of Portuguese artist Ryan Libby who is based in the country’s Algarve region and is making his Position Obscure debut following releases on other imprints such as Twists of Time and Krafted Underground.
One of the original tracks is a solo production and the second sees LIBS collaborate with PARCEL who has also released on Motek Music, Death Proof Recordings, and Loco Records. Might i also contributes a remix to the release in the progressive house style he has featured on other imprints such as LW Recordings and Understated @ Nite.
“Vision” starts the release with a cinematic opening that builds suspense before the percussion is introduced to drive the uplifting pads and deep atmospherics. LIBS and PARCEL’s collaborative track “Retrospection” is built around poignant melodies and crisp percussion that combine to create an emotive dance floor experience. Might i’s remix of Retrospection adds additional percussion and epic pads that lift the energy while still staying true to the original.
