Tara Brooks selects 10 tracks from the label ahead of the Desert Hearts Festival

Tara Brooks is making some serious waves. Rather than producing just one genre or style, she is sonically inspired by personal experiences and connections with the environment.

Her out-of-the-box taste in a multitude of music genres, paired with her passion for taking crowds through a journey of different sounds and styles, enables her to stir crowds with deep, funky soulful grooves, trippy rhythms, raw acid, and electro beats, to breakbeats, to hypnotic indie dance vibes to techno and beyond.

Tara Brooks will be playing at this year’s Desert Hearts  Festival to be held from  July 4th to the 8th, 2024 in a brand-new location, Playa Ponderosa,  in  Northern Arizona, alongside the collective co-founders Mikey Lion, Marbs, Lee Reynolds,   Porky, and a group of representative artists such as  Walker & Royce, Anja Schneider,  Doc Martin, VNSSA, Nick Warren, Mira, Gorje Hewek, Coco & Breezy, Atish, Ky William, Tara Brooks, Lisbona Sisters, Life On Planets, Öona Dahl,  Rinzen, Kevin Knapp, Gettoblaster, Ardalan, Nala, Mary Droppinz, SHADED, Lubelski, and many more.

For the special occasion, Tara has selected 10 favorite tracks from Desert Hearts  Records. For more info about the event click here.

1. Audiojack – Strait Up

“I play a ton of Audiojack’s music and ‘Strait Up’ is next level. Groovy, sexy, bouncy, fun, & that warm dubby bass makes it hit the dancefloor like no other.”

2. Marbs – Trip & Roll (DJ Minx Remix)

DJ Minx crushed this remix. She’s got the perfect sexy energetic groove you could dance to forever. Uplifting and good feel, with that nasty bass. This remix just makes you want to shake your ass.”

3. Ardalan –  The Maniac

“You know whatever Ardalan makes is going to be quality. He’s interesting, eclectic, & full of twists and turns. ‘The Maniac’ is definitely out of the box for when you’re ready to blast off & is trippy, but has fun grooving slapping tribal drums. I loved it so much, so I decided that I needed to remix it. So stay tuned, where’s there’s Ardy, there’s the party”

4. Kevin Knapp & Mikey Lion – I Am Not

“I Am Not is a proper house, good feel, funky tune! All of the elements work beautifully together to go off on the dancefloor”

5. Sydney Blu – In A Second

“Loved hearing the left side of Sydney Blu. Minimal techno, groovy, underground, heavy pumping kick hits so nicely. Proper dark magic right here.”

6. Mr. Bizz & Boho – Back to the Rhythm

“Great to hear Boho & Mr. Bizz come together. If I’m going to play melodic techno today it has to really stand out. They nailed it with their driving groove, not over the top but unique synth & strings… It’s that sexy bass that’s just perfectly funky and moody that gets me.”

7. Marbs – The Devils Love

“I love that Marbs has been dipping into beautiful breakbeats. ‘The Devils Love’ has an uplifting emotional feel with deep dark warm bass, perfect to close out your set or drop it in the middle to shake things up.”

8. Mikey Lion –  Burn With Me (Joyce Muniz Remix)

“Joyce Muniz is one of the real ones. Not only one of the most badass DJ/producers but also one of the sweetest, most kind, and most down-to-earth humans. Love her classy & funky, but edgy proper groover for Mikey.”

9. Mary  Droppinz – She Moves The World

“Mary Droppinz has been working! I respect and love how eclectic she is, she just does her own thing. Loving her psychedelic & worldly remix of Tony H. She delivers the proper amount of drive and energy and will be sure to take you on a journey into outer space.”

10. Tara Brooks & Brad Hart – Sophrosyne

“Sophrosyne was released 8 years ago after dancing in the desert, flying high into the moon. It has that deep dark, psychedelic feel that just puts you in a trance. It’s super moody and groovy, and here to take you on a trip.”

The Desert Heart Festival 2024 will take place in Playa Ponderosa,  in  Northern Arizona,  from  July 4th to the 8th. Grab your tickets here.
