Blending veteran acts with rising voices, club deconstruction with large-scale audiovisual work, and physical installations with AI experimentation, Sónar 2025 reflects the constant evolution of global music culture. From deep nightclubs to daytime conferences, the programming speaks to diverse creative identities and collective curiosity.
Here are some of the acts we’re most excited to check out this year.
1. Four Tet
Kieran Hebden, aka Four Tet, brings one of his genre-spanning DJ sets to Sónar by Night. Revered for his organic blends of jazz, ambient, garage, and folk, his performances carry both intimacy and unpredictability. It’s a rare late-night moment where innovation meets emotional flow.
2. Helena Hauff
Berlin-based Helena Hauff brings raw energy and analog grit to the decks. Known for her vinyl-only sets and blend of electro, EBM, and industrial techno, she thrives in high-intensity zones. Her Sónar set is poised to be an unfiltered journey for the early morning crowd.
3. Paula Tape
Chilean DJ and producer Paula Tape brings a kinetic mix of italo disco, EBM, and synth-wave to Sónar by Night. As a BBC Radio 1 resident and founder of the ‘Hola Mundo’ series, her sets reflect a refined ear and adventurous spirit.
4. AudioStellar – Territorios Sonoros Emergentes
Barcelona-based AudioStellar blurs the line between code and choreography with ‘Territorios Sonoros Emergentes’. Using AI, body-tracking, and contemporary dance, this real-time performance visualizes sound as evolving constellations. It’s a bold fusion of technology and embodied expression, preceded by a talk at Sónar+D.
5. Max Cooper – Lattice 3D/AV
Max Cooper presents ‘Lattice 3D/AV’, an immersive stage show inspired by his album ‘On Being.’ Drawing on anonymous audience submissions and his background in computational biology, Cooper weaves together scientific ideas, personal emotion, and algorithmic visuals into a powerful synesthetic experience.
6. Nathy Peluso – Live Show + Club Grasa Set
Nathy Peluso showcases two sides of her artistry at Sónar. First, she performs ‘GRASA’, a main-stage live show mixing hip-hop, electronic, and balladic elements. Later, she takes the booth for Club Grasa, a back-to-back set with Chris Collins and Afri K that channels her remix EP into a playful, genre-blurring session.
7. Samantha Hudson – Música Para Muñecas
Samantha Hudson brings ‘Música Para Muñecas’, a conceptual live show that combines hardcore, bakala, and queer radical performance. Her confrontational humor and political lens are fully embedded in the experience, creating a space of celebration, resistance, and sonic catharsis.
8. Creative Coding Barcelona
Creative Coding Barcelona hosts a takeover at SonarÀgora with a series of live-coded performances. Featuring artists like Andreas Gysin, Maria Castellanos, and Roger Pibernat, the event spotlights programming as a performative, artistic tool in both sound and visuals.
9. Six Sex
Six Sex breaks down reggaetón and rave into a provocative style she calls “ravetón”. Her sets combine raw lyricism, hyper-stylized visuals, and bold performance. Positioned at the intersection of identity, chaos, and club culture, she’s one of the most incendiary voices on the lineup.
10. Polo & Pan
French duo Polo & Pan make their return with a new live show featuring their album ‘22:22.’ Their signature retrofuturist fusion of house, disco, and psychedelic pop creates an enchanting, sensorial escape.
