DEEWEE, the label of the brothers David & Stephen Dewaele (best known as Soulwax and 2manydjs) has announced the release of ‘Foundations’, their first compilation ever, which is due out on May 7th. Made up of 27 songs, including three new original cuts, it will be released on a triple LP and 2 CDs, in addition to the digital format.
‘‘Foundations’ is more than just a compilation of songs from the DEEWEE label. As with all the imprint releases, the Parisian art directors, Ill-Studio, have created a magnificent artifact that will delight collectors’ they explain in the press release. ‘Also, the sequencing of the 27 songs is done with as much love as any artist album or DJ set. It is an expression of the values of a musical family. Everything on the album has come from DEEWEE Studios in Ghent, Belgium In many ways ‘Foundations’ represents a new phase in the label’s existence, which is jointly supported by Because Music.’
