ZEHV: “2023 will be my biggest year yet!”

Starting his musical career at an early age as a trained blues guitar player, Zehv has always had music flowing through his veins. In 2014, after attending Ultra, he swiftly transitioned into experimenting with music production and live mixing, and quickly established himself as a unique artist within the Electronic music scene.

ZEHV holds some iconic venues within his live performance portfolio, having played at some of San Francisco’s best clubs, such as Halcyon, Audio, The Midway, and The Great Northern. He later reached new heights when relocating to New York City and playing at  Avant Gardner, Bogart House, and Quantum. ZEHV has shared the stage with renowned names like Pete Tong, Sebastien Leger, and Joris Voorn and has become known for his lively and energetic performances.

We’re ready to welcome 2023 in the best way we know how, with music and new projects. ZEHV took some time to chat with us and told us more about what lies ahead for him in this exciting new year.

EG: Hi ZEHV! It’s a pleasure to have you with us. 2023 is here and we’d like to know…What are your hopes for this year regarding your music career?

ZEHV: Hi!  New and bigger labels, playing big shows in new cities, and more support for my music around the world!

EG: What are your top 3 resolutions for this new year?

ZEHV: Make more music, keep learning new techniques, and stay physically active.

EG: Do you have any releases in the pipeline for the upcoming months?

ZEHV: Yes! I have a release coming in February and another one in March. Follow my socials for more news on it soon.

EG: If you could pick any event, any stage, any place: where would you like to perform in 2023?

ZEHV: I’d love to perform at Elements in Buenos Aires! I went to a show there this year and it was such a vibe.

“I have used vocals in my music, but this year I’d like to do a lot of real instrument and vocal recording”

EG: And following on from that, if the world was your oyster for selection, who would you like to collaborate with this new year?

ZEHV: If the world was my oyster, Guy J!

EG: Are there any new hobbies or activities you’d like to try in 2023?

ZEHV: Sky diving! Never done that.

EG: Are there any new skills or new gear that you’d like to implement in your studio in 2023?

ZEHV: I have used vocals in my music, but this year I’d like to do a lot of real instrument and vocal recording. I have my guitar that I’d like to use more this year.

EG: From a production standpoint, what would you say is the number one area you would like/need to invest time into in order to develop your production level?

ZEHV: Something I’m continuing to develop this year is mixing using reference tracks. Always looking to improve my mixing skills.

“I’ve been noticing progressive house has been leaning on the higher energy side compared to where it was a few years ago, which I really like and prefer”

EG: Any new genres you’d like to explore next year?

ZEHV: Hmm not sure! When I hear one that piques my curiosity I’ll know.

EG: New sub-genres come and go into fashion every year, what are your predictions for 2023?

ZEHV: I honestly have no idea; I’ve been noticing Progressive House has been leaning on the higher energy side compared to where it was a few years ago, which I really like and prefer. There also is a huge audience for Organic House right now.

EG: Besides yourself, which artists or labels should people follow this year?

ZEHV: For artists, Mike Isai is one to follow. He’s been getting support from some of the biggest artists in the industry and I’m sure he’s going to have a big year. In terms of labels, Meanwhile Recordings is one to follow right now. Constant high-quality music.

EG: Make a prediction for 2023 about the world of music and we’ll try and catch you this time next year to see if it came true!

ZEHV: Alright, I predict this year will be my biggest year yet! Biggest releases, biggest shows, biggest support!

EG: Do you have a message for your followers for this new year?

ZEHV: Thank you so much for all your support, it means the world to me. Get ready for some new music 🙂 Lots coming next year.
