Eli just released his new diverse EP ‘I Can Be Whatever You Want Me To Be’ via Mammal Sounds Records. The collection showcases the Australian artist’s versatility across musical genres, featuring both previously released singles and new collaborations.

The EP includes ‘What If/If Only,’ a collaboration with Lucy Lamb that adds a Grimes-inspired edge to Eli’s hyper-pop and dance-pop style. She reveals that Vierre Cloud’s ‘Moment’ inspired the track, with Lamb’s spontaneous contribution exploring themes of romance and sensitivity.

The closing track, ‘I’ll Ask Them To Go,’ evolved from Eli’s teenage years, reflecting his journey from Jeff Buckley-inspired melancholia to his current electronic sound. The artist embraces the EP’s eclectic nature, viewing it as a strength that allows each song to stand on its own.

Eli sees the EP’s title as both a personal statement and a declaration of musical freedom. “From a musical perspective, it’s me showing the different things I can be, the different sounds I can make. I don’t have to fit into any particular genre or sound. I can do whatever I want musically, and I’m more comfortable now with showing that. I’ve spent a lot of time with this music. I’m glad to finally let it go, and I hope some people can take something from it,” he asserts.
