PAAX and Sakhe The Conqueror Collaborate on Afro House-Inspired Release ‘SELA’, with All Proceeds Donated to Charity
Argentinian DJ and producer duo PAAX have teamed up with Cape Town-based artist Sakhe The Conqueror on their latest Afro House-inspired release, ‘SELA’. The track fuses South American and African sounds, blending cultural influences to create a vibrant and soulful anthem. Released on September 27th via Scorpios Music, all proceeds from the track will be donated to Bridges For Music, a nonprofit organization committed to empowering young creatives from underserved communities in Cape Town.
As Afro House continues to rise globally, it brings new opportunities for international artists to collaborate with emerging African talent. ‘SELA’ is a shining example of this, born from the partnership between Scorpios Music and Bridges For Music. The initiative aims to spotlight the vital work of Bridges For Music, with every cent from the record going directly to support their mission.
PAAX are known for their organic, groovy, and experimental Deep Tech and House sound, blending multicultural influences with exotic instruments. This collaboration with Sakhe The Conqueror was a natural fit. Sakhe’s powerful and authentic isiXhosa vocals elevate the track, seamlessly fusing the two cultures into a unique and dynamic soundscape.
Sakhe The Conqueror, an Afro Soul and House vocalist, producer, DJ, and songwriter from Cape Town, is also an alumna of Bridges Academy. She was discovered by BFM Records, a leading independent South African label supporting artists in realizing their vision and reaching global audiences.
‘SELA’ is a cultural fusion filled with joyful energy and rhythm, featuring irresistible guitar licks from Cuban musician Emilio Campos Rojas, and Sakhe’s lyrics that encourage us to “drink the water of life,” transforming the music into a message of healing.
The release also includes a remix by renowned producer Jean Claude Ades, who adds uplifting melodies that channel the essence of a setting sun, making it perfect for the dancefloor.
