Tamango Records boss Yaya makes his debut on wAFF’s Nature label with the groove-laden, five-track EP, ‘Me Gusta’.

The title track ‘Me Gusta’ opens with chunky drums, swinging bass, and catchy vocals, showcasing Yaya’s distinct style. ‘Logic Routine’ follows with punchy beats and low-end weight, while ‘Maximo Delicioso’ bridges the EP’s halves with an eerie, bouncy feel and groovy bassline.

‘Blocked’ features brighter harmonics while maintaining Yaya’s minimal style, with funky sounds and a danceable core. ‘Step Mode’ closes the release with percussive energy, highlighting Yaya’s skill in crafting grooves with intricate instrumentation and rich melodies.

Yaya, the founder of Tamango Records, blends African roots with Italian influences in his music. Raised in Turin, his rhythmic passion was inspired by his father’s role in ‘M’bamina.’ Since 2009, Yaya has become a global DJ, playing at top European venues. He launched Tamango Records in 2016, featuring artists like Loco Dice and Enzo Siragusa.
