Maver has released his EP ‘Spirals.’ This four-track collection features two new songs—‘Damn Sad’ and ‘Short Term Memory’—marking a significant milestone in the Australian music artistic journey. The EP is enriched by collaborations with close friends LORA, Ukiyo, and jnr., adding depth and variety to the project.

Building on the success of Maver’s previous singles, ‘Lazy’ (a collaboration with jnr. and ‘I’m healing’ (featuring LORA), ‘Spirals’ is more than just a musical offering. It weaves a compelling narrative about mental health, reflecting Maver’s personal experiences and growth in recent years.

Maver’s creative process for ‘Spirals’ began in 2022, during a period of significant personal growth. “I started writing it in my bedroom in Perth back in 2022, during a period where I was really making progress with my mental health,” the artist reveals. The EP draws inspiration from Maver’s own struggles with anxiety and depression, as well as conversations with friends facing similar challenges.

The title ‘Spirals’ serves as a metaphor for the often cyclical nature of mental health struggles. However, it also carries a message of hope and solidarity. “It’s a reminder that you don’t have to go through it alone,” Maver explains. “The main message of the EP is: It’s okay to be sad. Let’s be sad together, and maybe we’ll be happier.”
