EG: Hi, Emrat, we are happy to chat with you today. Where are you right now?
Emrat: Hi! I’m currently in Ukraine, in my home studio, working on future projects.
EG: Your upcoming EP ‘Elysium’ is generating quite a buzz. What can you share about the inspiration behind these new tracks?
Emrat: ‘Elysium’ is an attempt to showcase a glimpse of a new future. Each track combines organic textures with futuristic elements, creating and portraying, in my view, a new, unexplored, and futuristic world.
EG: You’ve been known to blend various genres like Organic House and Melodic House. What motivates you to experiment across different styles?
Emrat: For me, it’s a way to tell stories. Each genre has its own set of emotions and textures, and blending them allows me to create unique ideas. Experimentation keeps my creativity fresh.
EG: Can you tell us about your creative process when integrating ethnic elements into your music?
Emrat: I start by exploring traditional sounds—it could be instruments, vocal samples, or field recordings. If a particular sound or vocal resonates with me, I listen to it several times and imagine how it might fit with electronic elements or effects. Then, I load the sample or vocal into my DAW and begin experimenting. My goal is to preserve the cultural roots of these elements while weaving them into contemporary electronic music.

EG: You’ve worked with labels like Hoomidaas, Sol Selectas, and now RITHMCODE. How have these collaborations shaped your journey as an artist?
Emrat: Each label has its own unique atmosphere and audience, which pushes me to adapt while staying true to my style. Collaborating with these labels helps me grow creatively, expand my imagination, and gain confidence in experimenting.
EG: What do you find most rewarding about producing music that transports listeners into different musical worlds?
Emrat: The most valuable thing is hearing how people connect with my music. Knowing that my tracks evoke memories, and emotions, or even inspire creativity is my main motivation.
EG: Are there any particular artists or experiences that have significantly influenced your sound?
Emrat: Absolutely. There are producers whose work inspires me a lot—like Eternal Moment and Arutani, who are fantastic in the Downtempo style. In Organic House, I admire Hraach, especially his recent works, more progressive music, probably Kasper Koman. There are so many great producers whose creativity inspires me.
EG: With the evolving music technology, how do you incorporate new tools or instruments into your productions?
Emrat: I love exploring new plugins and tools to expand my sound design capabilities. At the same time, I often combine them with live recordings to maintain a human touch. I aim to balance tradition and technology.

EG: How has your background from Ukraine influenced your approach to music and creativity?
Emrat: Ukrainian artists often have a drive to explore and blend different styles. I think my Ukrainian background has helped me develop the ability to integrate traditional elements with modern genres, creating fresh and original sounds.
EG: What message or feeling do you hope fans take away when they listen to ‘Elysium’?
Emrat: ‘Elysium’ has an atmospheric title that hints at the idea of a future place in the world. Through these tracks, I try to show listeners a new vision of the world—to evoke emotions, inspiration, and a sense of harmony in a beautiful and fantastic new era.
