A Love from Outer Space (ALFOS), founded by Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston, marks its 15th anniversary with a definitive anthology releasing on 14th February 2025.
Sean Johnston, curator and mixer of the upcoming 19-track collection, shares the compilation’s vision: “The thing about ALFOS is that while we’ve always had one eye on the past, much of the music we play is forward-looking. This compilation seeks to capture that balance.”
The anthology’s nineteen tracks demonstrate ALFOS’s musical range—from The Blow Monkeys’ ‘Save Me’ (Neville Watson remix) to classic cuts by Jonny Sender and Cisco Cisco. The collection weaves together vocal-led pieces like Duncan Gray’s ‘Gone & Forgotten,’ experimental works from Secret Circuit and Bongo Entp., and modern ALFOS favorites by Feon and Darlyn Vlys. It concludes with Phil Kieran’s ‘Find Love’ (Andrew Weatherall remix), Jazxing and Das Komplex’s ‘Neu Nostalgia,’ and Brioski’s ‘Calling 626.’
From its humble beginnings in North London’s The Waiting Room, ALFOS has evolved into a global cultural movement. Its distinctive blend of kosmische, house, dub, and post-punk has found welcoming homes in venues across London, Glasgow, Croatia, and beyond.
After Andrew Weatherall’s passing in 2020, Johnston launched the Emergency Broadcast System—livestreamed sessions that maintained the ALFOS community’s connection during the pandemic.
Entering its 15th year, ALFOS continues to unite music lovers in a slower, more exploratory sonic experience.
