Hailing from Pune, India, Nuevayu has quickly positioned himself as a boundary-pushing artist in the electronic music scene. Known for blending intricate rhythms and emotional soundscapes, his latest release ‘Run,’ featuring J Fitz, explores a unique fusion of country-inspired vocals with melodic house and techno. As the inaugural release on his newly launched label Tantalize, ‘Run’ not only sets the tone for the label but also marks a significant moment in his creative journey.

We had the pleasure of speaking with Nuevayu about the inspirations behind ‘Run,’ the vision for Tantalize, and the cultural influences that shape his evolving sound.
EG: Hi Nuevayu, welcome to EG! ‘Run’ combines country-infused vocals with melodic house and techno—two genres not often heard together. What drew you to this combination, and what story are you trying to tell through the track?
Nuevayu: Thanks for the invite. I’ve always been drawn to the idea of taking something familiar and flipping it on its head. Country vocals have this honesty, this unpolished grit that hits you right in the chest. Pair that with melodic house and techno genres that can be hypnotic, even spiritual, and you’ve got a tension that feels alive. ‘Run’ is about exactly that: the pull between staying and leaving, the fear of change and the thrill of it. It’s not just a track, it’s an emotional sprint through freedom.
EG: Launching your own label, Tantalize, is a big milestone. Can you share the vision behind the label and what you aim to achieve with this platform?
Nuevayu: Tantalize was born out of this idea that music should grab you, shake you up, seduce you, leave you thinking about it long after the track ends. It’s not about following trends or fitting into neat little boxes. I want this label to feel like a playground for bold, untamed sounds. Whether it’s my music or other artists we work with, Tantalize is here to create moments that make you stop, listen, and feel something real. That’s the mission.
EG: Your earlier works, like the ‘Rebirth’ EP, showcased a more introspective sound. How does ‘Run’ represent an evolution in your music, and what challenges did you face in blending such contrasting elements?
Nuevayu: The thing about evolution is it forces you to take risks. With ‘Run,’ I wanted to step away from the purely introspective and create something that felt more like a conversation, a dialogue between me and the listener. The challenge was making two very different worlds—country and melodic techno—speak the same language. There were moments I thought, “What have I gotten myself into?” But once it clicked, it was like the track found its identity and it just felt pure!
EG: The collaboration with J Fitz is central to the track’s identity. How did you connect with him, and what was the creative process like when working together on “Run”?
Nuevayu: J Fitz and I connected through a shared love for music that tells a story. His voice has this raw, unfiltered energy, like he’s lived every word he sings. When we started working on ‘Run,’ it was less about making a “hit” and more about finding the truth in the track. The process was a mix of chaos and flow—some moments were effortless, and others had us tearing things apart to rebuild them. But that’s what made it special. We didn’t settle, and you can hear that in the track.
“Growing up here taught me to appreciate contrast: the traditional and the modern, the chaos and the calm”
EG: As an artist from Pune, how have your roots and cultural surroundings shaped your sound? Do you feel your music reflects elements of your upbringing or the city’s musical diversity?
Nuevayu: Pune is like this quiet rebel—it’s not in-your-face, but it’s full of surprises if you know where to look. Growing up here taught me to appreciate contrast: the traditional and the modern, the chaos and the calm. That duality shows up in my music. I love weaving introspection with bold, global sounds. Pune’s underground music scene is small but fierce, and it’s impossible not to soak up that energy. It’s shaped me in ways I’m still discovering.
EG: Tantalize’s debut is ambitious and sets a high bar. How do you see the label evolving over time, and what kind of artists or sounds can listeners expect to hear?
Nuevayu: Ambition is the whole point—if you’re not reaching for something bigger, why bother? Tantalize is about building a legacy of music that hits differently. Over time, I see it evolving into a hub for artists who refuse to play it safe. Expect sounds that challenge, excite, and feel like they’ve got something to say. It’s not about genres; it’s about impact. I want people to listen to a Tantalize release and immediately know, “This is something special.”
EG: Looking ahead, what’s next for you? Are there any upcoming projects, collaborations, or live performances you’re particularly excited about?
Nuevayu: The future is packed, and I’m here for it. Right now, the focus is on Tantalize’s launch—it feels like watching a dream come to life. Beyond that, I’ve got a few collaborations brewing with artists who inspire the hell out of me. And yes, live shows are coming. I want to bring the Tantalize vibe to audiences in a raw, intimate way. Let’s just say 2025 is going to be a year of surprises, and I can’t wait for people to experience it all.
EG: Thanks for the time and all the best!
Nuevayu: Likewise!
