ISO3, known as Michael Newman, returns to Jay Hill’s People of the Light label with his latest release, the ‘Timed’ EP.
This three-track offering showcases the Liverpool-based techno producer’s approach to modern techno, building upon his previous appearance on the label’s vinyl-only tribute to Mike Huckaby, ‘The Educator’ EP.
Drawing influence from techno pioneers Steve Rachmad/Sterac, Kevin Saunderson, and Christian Smith, ISO3 delivers a refined sonic experience that blends raw power with emotion. The title track features hypnotic bass, precise percussion, and melodic elements, while the remaining tracks explore complex rhythms and atmospheric textures.
The artist’s creative vision stems from contemplating life’s temporal constraints. “Timed is a release which expresses the constraints time places on daily life. As the vocals of the titular track state—”No time to stop, no time to wait.” These three tracks showcase my versatility as an artist. While each has its individual sound, they remain cohesive as a release. I am proud to be part of the POTL family. Timed provides another aspect to this diverse and ever-evolving label.”
