Following their debut ‘Mali Spirit’, West African alternative electronic trio Lagos in Paris return with ‘Afro G Western’, a bold follow-up single that continues their sonic exploration. Set to appear on their debut EP due this summer.
Featuring Ghanaian vocalists Stevo Atambire and TSIE, the track fuses gritty electronics with Sahelian instrumentation and raw blues textures, creating what the trio describe as “a modern-day Western through an African lens.”
Crafted over two years and shaped by the trio’s nomadic studio setup, ‘Afro G Western’ builds on their self-defined “afraw” aesthetic—a hybrid of house, techno, amapiano, afrobeats, dancehall, funk, and electronica. The accompanying music video, shot in Abidjan and directed by the trio, blends nostalgia and futurism as it follows a DJ on a surreal quest for the perfect sound.
