Recognized UK-based company PLAYY. (formerly THE PLAYGROUND) has unveiled PLAYY. Music, a new social music platform aimed at shifting the power balance in the music industry by offering a dedicated network for independent artists.

Spearheaded by Director Warren Morris, who first envisioned the concept over 18 years ago during the MySpace era, PLAYY. Music is set to debut publicly in July 2025. The platform provides a unified digital space for independent musicians to manage and monetize their careers. Artists can sell and stream their music, license tracks and samples, handle ticketing, book jobs, and launch crowdfunding campaigns—all from one integrated hub.

Designed to move past the industry’s traditional gatekeeping, PLAYY. Music positions itself as a tool for creators to build careers on their own terms. It focuses on transparency, fair compensation, and direct fan engagement.

“For decades, the music industry has been controlled by middlemen… Most of the money flowed to the top of the chain,” said Morris. “It shouldn’t be this difficult for musicians to share their work and make a living from it.”

The platform will also cater to fans by offering tools to discover new music, engage directly with artists, join communities, and purchase event tickets. Personalized recommendations and exclusive content aim to deepen the fan experience.

“Creating a tech platform of this scale seemed nearly impossible. However, once I took the lead on design and assembled the right development team, we made it happen,” Morris added. “This has been the most demanding endeavor I’ve ever undertaken, and now, after nearly two decades, we’re finally ready to launch.”

PLAYY. Music enters its first launch phase in July 2025. Join the waiting list here.
