A fire earlier this week severely damaged the main stage of Tomorrowland 2025, prompting last-minute changes just hours before gates are set to open in Boom, Belgium. Emergency services responded swiftly, though the cause of the blaze remains unknown. Local authorities urged nearby residents to remain indoors to avoid exposure to smoke.
The incident drew wide attention online, with one user posting: “The main stage of Tomorrowland, one of the largest music festivals in Europe, held in Belgium, has been set on fire and has been completely consumed two days before its premiere.” Local police confirmed that the safety of staff and crew on-site has remained the top priority.
Today, Friday, July 18th, the festival is scheduled to open at 14:00, two hours later than originally planned. Organizers announced two possible scenarios depending on ongoing work at the Mainstage area. If safety conditions are met, the entire festival grounds will be accessible to all visitors, regardless of ticket type. If not, DreamVille will host the Mainstage lineup for its residents, while other ticket holders—such as Friday Day Pass, Global Journey Hotel Packages, and Full Madness Pass holders—will access the festival grounds, excluding the Mainstage.
This year’s theme, ‘Orbyz’, is described as “a magical universe sculpted entirely from ice.” The festival features 16 stages and over 600 performing artists, including Anyma, Armin van Buuren, Alok, Amber Broos, Charlotte De Witte, Amelie Lens, ANNA, Martin Garrix, Job Jobse, Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, and Fisher.
A full reopening is expected on Saturday, with standard access for all ticket holders from noon onwards.
