Ellen Allien returns with her latest work, ‘Under The Ocean’, a deeply personal single released via her own BPitch label.
Premiered during her set at NAME Festival in May, the track serves as a tribute to Allien’s mother, who passed away earlier this year. ‘Under The Ocean’ blends the artist’s trademark techno sound with a profound emotional narrative.
“I wanted to make a track that I can play in my DJ sets, because then my mother is also with me when I perform,” shares Allien. “She was at my first DJ show, dancing in front of me, and always supported me. This is my way of creating a beautiful reminder of her and what she means to me.”
Built with atmospheric layers and driving rhythms, the production captures both intensity and introspection, envisioned by Allien as something to be played “on the most beautiful dance floors” around the world.
