Selador celebrates its 200th release with the launch of a special trilogy of EPs, starting with ‘200 EP1’. Curated by founders Dave Seaman and Steve Parry, the series revisits twelve tracks from the label’s twelve-year history, now reimagined by friends and collaborators.
Opening the series is ‘Mysko’, a collaborative effort from Steve Parry and Four Candles, remixed by Hernan Cattaneo and Mercurio. Translating roughly to “strange” or “mysterious” in Swedish, ‘Mysko’ lives up to its name with a tense yet dreamy atmosphere, anchored by a seductive beat and ethereal synths.
Dave Seaman follows with ‘Heavyweight Residue’ featuring Thomas Gandey, now reworked by Derun. The remix builds intensity slowly, creating a looming presence before erupting into full force at the 1:30 mark.
The third cut comes from Steve Parry, as ‘Won’t You Believe’ receives a fresh interpretation from Just Her. Combining elements of breakbeat, trance, progressive and deep house, the remix blends genres into a cohesive new soundscape.
Closing out ‘EP1’ is Dave Seaman’s ‘Two By Two’, remixed by Audio Junkies. The track’s lyrics — “two by two, side by side” — nod to the long-standing partnership between Seaman and Parry, and the remix captures that synergy through a rising energy and rhythmic build.
Reflecting on the release, Steve Parry shared: “It’s quite a strange (but great) feeling reaching our 200th release. Time flies when you’re having fun they say, and yes, we’ve been having fun. Selador has always been about Dave and Me, our musical output, and the music that we love. So it seemed fitting to get sparkly new versions of some of our tracks. We asked our musical friends and artists we love, to tweak, nip & tuck and give our tracks a glazing of their own flavours. The outcome was suitably Selador, with all genres covered and all delivered to make you smile and dance.”
‘200 EP2’ and ‘200 EP3’ are scheduled for release on August 15th and August 29th respectively.
