French producer Captain Mustache returns to Mobilee with ‘The Pathetic’, featuring Play Paul, brother of Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. The track is the third single from his forthcoming album ‘Luz’, set for release on September 12th, 2025.
‘The Pathetic’ delivers a sleek electro-techno drive with surging drums, bright arpeggios, and Play Paul’s sultry indie vocals. Its moody bassline adds weight to the futuristic groove. On the B-side, ‘Dancing Like Muffins’ unfolds with jangling synths, vocoder textures, and sparkling arps, building into a cosmic dance floor journey.
Captain Mustache bridges electro, techno, and wave, with past releases on Permanent Vacation, Bedrock, and Kompakt. His 2023 single ‘Everything’ became his biggest success to date, drawing wide DJ support and surpassing 300,000 plays. With ‘Luz’, he explores a broad spectrum of 80s and 90s influences, creating music for both intimate listening and the club.
