For this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event, Awakenings is stepping into uncharted territory — both sonically and spatially. From Wednesday, October 22nd through Sunday, October 26th, the iconic promoter will take over a new venue: the Sugarfactory, a 19th-century industrial landmark in Amsterdam’s west.

Built in 1863, the Sugarfactory welcomes techno for the first time with Awakenings as its exclusive host—a milestone for both venue and dance scene. The venue features a central hall with concrete floors, industrial roofing, and a suspended balcony, offering multiple viewing levels and side rooms for chill-out areas.

Located just five minutes from Sloterdijk and accessible via multiple transport options, the venue combines industrial architecture with premium sound. Awakenings describes this choice as returning to essentials: authentic warehouse atmosphere with powerful acoustics.

Across seven events, the programming stretches from groove-led house to relentless hard techno. The opening night on Wednesday welcomes the debut of 999999999’s AV show, plus a premiere back-to-back from Azyr × Cloudy. Thursday follows with Drumcode, led by Adam Beyer alongside Enrico Sangiuliano, Eli Brown, Bart Skils, and more.

Friday sees USS arrive in Amsterdam for the first time, with Chris Stussy joined by Ryan Elliott, Sally C, Locklead, and Paolo Rocco. Saturday splits into two shows: daytime’s ‘Spectrum’ curated by Joris Voorn, featuring vinyl sets from Freddy K and Ogazón, and hypnotic techno from Rødhåd and Rene Wise, before Voorn closes with his ‘Trip To Galaxy’ concept. At night, Indira Paganotto debuts ARTCORE under Awakenings, joined by Elli Acula, Lola Cerise, Marhu, and Estella Boersma × SHDW.

On Sunday, the day program focuses on emerging sounds, with Emvae, Odymel, and Funk Tribu × Øtta presenting genre-defiant sets. To close, Amelie Lens headlines Exhale with AIROD, Kobosil, Nico Moreno, and Koboyo — a full-throttle finale for ADE 2025.
